Training
"Training is an important way of changing attitudes, improving practice and at the end of the day, improving lives. "
Too often people can come away from training having been really inspired or encouraged by a new approach, but then get sucked back into the daily work routine and find it difficult to implement the ideas learnt.
Over the last two years Learning Disability Wales has built up a positive reputation as a training service provider. We aim to provide a programme of training and events that is:
- Accessible - easy to understand for everyone.
- Meaningful - makes sense in terms of your life or work.
- Useful - inspires you to make a difference to you or those you support.
We specialise in using trainers and speakers that have both expertise and also real experience in their relevant fields. This enables those that access our training to have the opportunity to gain both inspiration and also real life working tools to make the changes needed to their day to day working lives and practice.
Many people who attend our training come with the question 'if someone else can do this, then why can't I?' The answer is that we can all learn new skills to make ours and others lives better, and the feedback we receive shows us that good training will, and can continue to, change lives.
In addition to our core training programme we offer a bespoke service for tailor made in-house training for organisations and projects throughout Wales. Learning Disability Wales also offers CONSULTATION EVENTS, REGIONAL EVENTS and SEMINARS as well as our ANNUAL CONFERENCE.
If you have any ideas about the type of training that your organisation or local authority needs, please talk to us. We are aiming to build a network of trainers and associates who have practical ideas that work.
If you have good practice to share that you think others may benefit from, we would love to help you make it available for more people. Good training with a practical edge can and does work - please get in touch.
