Technology Works - Person Centred Technology in the workplace

Cardiff Bay, Wales, UK, Wednesday 22 June 2011

Technology Works is a European conference that will examine the use of Person Centred Technology (PCT) in the workplace.

Technology Works will:

  • explore the significance, issues and application of Person Centred Technology in employment and vocational training settings;
  • showcase good practice, highlight policy and practice issues in Wales and the UK;
  • offer delegates the chance to share and discuss their experiences and views.

The conference will be of interest to disabled people, advice and support agencies, supported employment agencies, commissioners, service providers, employers and trade union representatives.

What we mean by Person Centred Technology

Person Centred Technology is technology that supports an individual or their carer to gain greater control in achieving independence and safety. It includes, but is not limited to, Electronic Assistive Technologies, Environmental Controls, Telecare, Telehealth and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
