ImPaCT in Europe - Improving Person Centred Technology in Europe

ImPaCT in Europe, a transnational project networking project in the field of ICT and Assisitive Technology, is asking for people interested in the subject to complete an online survey that will assist the project in the mapping of knowledge and experience in the area throughout Europe.

The project partnership of the 'Improving Person Centred Technology (ImPaCT) in Europe' project is carrying out the research to map the current situation in the provision of Person Centered Technology (PCT) in Europe. To this end, it is inviting interested persons to take its online survey at http://easpd.hft.org.uk/.

The results of the survey will be analysed to evaluate the benefits of using PCT for people with disabilities.

ImPaCT is a transnational networking project in the field of ICT which is co-financed by the European Commission's Executive Agency for Education, Audiovisual and Culture in the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme. The project started on 1 January 2009 and will last for 36 months. Learning Disability Wales is a partner in the project, along with disabled organisations from six other countries in Europe.

ImPaCT aims to raise awareness about the benefits of using ICT and Assistive Technology to increase independence and quality of life of people with disabilities. It also aims to set up a Network bringing together people with disabilities, service providers, service commissioners, policy makers and manufacturers to exchange information and best practices. It especially aims to ensure that the needs of end users are known and taken into consideration when developing products and services.

More information and a growing knowledge centre can be found at the ImPaCT project website at www.impact-ine-urope.eu.

People with disabilities, service providers, policy makers at all levels, researchers and manufacturers of PCT who are interested in the work carried out by the partnership can get involved and help ensure that we create an effective Netowrk on ICT and Assistive Technology for the mutual benefit of all involved.
